Looks good. Why did you keep the stock L bug mounts? They are crap, its an easy conversion to fit an earlier mount frame.

Why are the crap ??
I have pulled 3 of them apart in the last week and all where unbroken, the same can not be said for the stock style ones in that every bug I pulled
apart they were broken.
I will be running a Custom Vee Dub ( http://www.customveedub.com.au ) mid mount
transaxle strap as well to make sure the box stays where I want it.
I figure the kafer bar, the transmission strap and the larger front box mount will see the EJ stay put.

Hi Brad
I agree they are usually are usually in one piece, unlike the usually oil soaked early ones, they are extremely soft and allow too much movement, but
if your happy with them that's OK.
I just changed to the earlier type mount in my daily driver and even with a stock 1600 I can feel the difference.

Fitted like a glove !!
Just had to make a minor change to the shock bolt hole on the bodywork as it was a 58 shell on an IRS pan, this was about 10mins worth of work.
The car feels so much more solid in the rear now...................hope you're happy Mick ?!

Mick,
That would be very helpful of you. I'll deposit the rest of the money tomorrow and then PM you and Craig when it is done. If you can collect the
kit from craig and bring it to me I would be very grateful. Yep I'll be around all weekend.
Thanks mate.

Caution - These bar cause issues !!
Well I have one of these bars and just want people to be aware they SUCK ... think long and hard before you buy one.
WHY - well because before I bought it my beetle was just a quick throw togeather nothing fancy, needed a rear engine support bar, so I got one of
these, it arrived in under 48 hrs fitted perfect and looked awesome so before I knew it the beetle is in bits, booked in for a bare metal respray then
after that off to Custom Vee Dub for a Subaru Conversion, cranky kit is on order, 17" mags are fitted, custom struts are made, windows are tinted and
it is all because of those damn kafer bars looking so nice ....
You have been warned. Only buy one if you want a good looking, well built bar kafer bar setup.
