I promised a vid and here it is....

This was run 3 of 4 before I left early on Sunday morning. Personal thing.

The car still had a couple of seconds left in it on my standard time, which would make it very quick I believe.

Some more track time will be proof.

Best time was 1.03.67, and it was a relaxing, neat, tidy run after some adjustments. A few more changes would have pulled another couple of seconds out of it.

Not to mention the motor is still sealed from original..... 1981.

Enjoy!!!

Video looks cool... seems a much rougher surface when your bum's so close to the ground !!! Your car looked and sounded great on the day too :tu:

Should pull my finger out and download the vids from my car hey...

Came round looking for you on Sunday, but was apparently after you'd left which was a bit of a bummer... hopefully catch you at another meet somewhere... Warwick perhaps ???

Hey mate!

Yeah I took off early Sunday morning. Had a few issues, not car related, and didnt think it was worth plowing the car into a hay bail.....

I did come over there looking for you a couple of times, but you werent with the car.

I did catch one of your runs.... something unique about a worked flat four.... always sound nice.

Thanks for the comments on the car. Had a number of people come up saying how nice the car looked on the track.

The track was fine for what it is, but found it hard to hit the corner nicely due to all the gravel built up on the edges of the road.

Kept trying to go as deep as possible before cornering, but the road cars have to turn in earlier, which means the gravel is right where I need to turn in.

Then the other problem was that every time I hit the anchors hard, the nosecone would slam into the ground..... camber on the road took 20mm clearance straight away, and seeing I only have 40mm to start with.... you get the picture.

Nice final time too mate. I was hoping with some more tweaking to be at about that time by the end of Sunday.... but anyways.... next time.

Just want to thank y'all from this forum.

I've posted this info on another so-called racing forum, with people you'd think would be interested in such an historic car.....

But no..... if it doesnt have Elfin or some other popular name in front of it, or I'm not 600 years old and saw the invention of the wheel, they don't want to know.

I've had issues, been abused, been ignored, been called an idiot for speaking the truth against somebody who stole from me, and for what???

With the exception of Ian Lee(chequer57) its been pretty much a waste of time.....

I just want to thank you guys for being so inviting when I'm obviously not quite the car you guys are working with.

You've been interested, even keen on what I've been up to..... and I want to thank you all for your hospitality.

So much so that I'm thinking of buying another beetle to have some fun with..... after the vee is sold....

I certainly dont want to race with numbnuts likes those guys..... but I'll cruise with you guys anyday....

Cheers!!!!

PS... yes car is still for sale..... you know how to get me...

You've got to get out Queensland Jason ;) it's a little bit more sane south of the Tweed (not by much, but a little).
